I would
like to introduce myself:
|
|
|
|
A few years back I
bought my first orchid, which was as "usual beginner orchid"
as it could be - a white Phalaenopsis. I watered it, fed it and
it kept blooming.
It was not until a
couple years later, though, that the purchase of a Dendrobium and an Odontoglossum
made me so curious, that I bought a book, and another one... The start
of what my friends call "orchid-crazy".
I have been growing
orchids for almost five years now and I continue to be fascinated!

I
am sharing my home at the California Coast with about 250 orchids plus other
plants (which I refer to as plant-plants) - my private, little jungle. |

Most of my plants
grow indoors, either on windowsills or on a light stand, which I built
(pictured on the left). A few plants are enjoying the great outdoors of
the yard. My plants get watered and fed once a week, with slight changes
in the feeding schedule for the winter months.
All photos on this
site were taken with a Nikon 6006 and scanned for the website.
I will continue to add new pictures over time.

So,
why "Tiger"?: Many of you have asked me:"What's up with
the Tiger in Tiger Orchids?". I will try to explain: I have always
loved tigers and the tiger has been with me through a big part of my life.
You could call it a protector, friend or "totem" or something
like that. Therefore I thought the tiger would be the perfect association
for my little endeavour.
